Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use Forem Meet on the web?
No. Enter your name, start or join a meeting, and you're in. There's nothing to install and no sign-up.
Can web participants join meetings started from the mobile app?
Yes — web and app participants share the same meeting rooms. Join with the same code from any device and everyone meets together, including chat, reactions, and the waiting room.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox on desktop and mobile. Camera and microphone access requires a secure (HTTPS) connection.
Is there a time limit or participant fee?
No. Meetings are free with no time limit.
How do host controls work?
Whoever starts the meeting is the host. Hosts can admit or deny guests in the waiting room, mute individual participants or everyone at once, and remove participants if needed.
How do I invite people to a meeting?
Click Invite others — on this page, on the pre-join screen, or inside the meeting. You can copy the meeting code or join link, share it, email it, or show a QR code. The link takes guests straight to the meeting in their browser, and meetings you start stay under Recent meetings here for one-click rejoining.
Can I use headphones or switch devices during a meeting?
Yes. Plug in wired earphones or connect Bluetooth headphones at any time — before or during a meeting — and your microphone and sound switch over automatically, then fall back to your built-in devices when you disconnect. You can also pick a specific microphone, camera, or speaker in Settings.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes — press ? in a meeting to see the full list. Cmd/Ctrl+D toggles your microphone, Cmd/Ctrl+E your camera, and holding Space lets you talk while muted, walkie-talkie style.
Can I install Forem Meet like an app?
Yes. Forem Meet on the web is installable: use your browser's Install or Add to Home Screen option and it opens in its own window with faster repeat loads. For scheduled meetings with reminders and one-tap calling, get the iOS or Android app.
